The removal of Pattern features in OS3

Hi, I am a new guy. I have an MPC1000 with os2xl installed and I am still learning it.

Was this close to upgrading from 2xl to 3 and realized that the old pattern features were removed and replaced with a strange pattern edit mode that I don't understand the purpose of.

Can anyone comment on this? Does anyone use 3 and like the change or at least cope without it? Are patterns that useful?

I never really used the pattern feature myself, it was likely removed in favor of other features.

JJOS crams just about as much into the device as possible given the limited amount of memory for the os.

I did not miss it being removed/changed because it was never part of my workflow.
