I've purchased a new mpc1000 equipped with jjos 2xl 3.27. I like to write drum sequences in grid mode. For some reason, when I choose 1/8, 1/16, or 1/32 (no triplets) it plays the sequence with a "gallop", where the sample plays twice and then there's a rest. I have been scouring the manual but I can't find info explaining this anomaly. I like to write sequences on my old mpc (older jjos) but it's in the shop right now. It's really annoying because it is not intuitive and I can't delete certain notes on the grid. It's not swing, I've tried that...

I never have looping turned on, and I have noticed this anomaly occur with samples set to both one shot AND note on...
