Root note for samples?

Thinking of using this downtime to sample some of my analog synth gear.

Any tips or suggestions for the root note or cord I should sample to best make use of the 16 tone levels?

Frequently folks will sample at 6 semi tone intervals or so... C, F# or whatever... and do that over a few octaves. The MPC with JJOS2XL and JJOS3 let's you map those into key groups so that you can play it as a full piano. Then you can make your chords whenever you want.

The problem with sampling chords is not all of them will sound 'right' and you cannot make every chord from a single chord sample. You can make every chord from a single note though... or handful of notes.
