MIDI thru

Can the 2500 out ports be set to function as MIDI thru?
I don't think it's possible as I can't find any information on this.

I want to have the option of sequencing external synths with the MPC, an Octatrack, or both depending on the project.

If not, I think I need a MIDI Solutions merger:

Yes, so I can set soft thru behaviour to as track, omni, or a particular output.
I have a keyboard plugged into one MIDI in and an Octatrack to the other. I don't think I can have soft thru as track for the keyboard running out one output, and then pass thru the OT MIDI as omni through a different output?
The aim being to sequence synths via the MPC but then option to add more complex sequence data from the OT also.
I'm on JJOS free 3.13

Just wondering if you've figured it out yet? How's you're MIDI cables set up?
