Sequencing MIDI CC's best practice

Hi,

I'd like to be able to sequence MIDI CC's in a non continuous way, more like a step based sequence. So, let's say I have a bar with 16 note steps, I'd want to be able to adjust CC values for each of these. I'm aware that I can input cc automation with the qlinks, but that's not what I'm after.

I tried assigning a CC value to pad for different pads and recording a track over the note track. This works, but the CC commands aren't quantized for some reason, and I can't quantize them.

Maybe there's a way in Grid Mode?

I haven't quite figured out how to enter and build beats in grid mode yet.

How do I, say, enter pad 1 into grid mode?

I know how to copy, insert, delete notes already sequenced. I don't know how to insert new notes.

Hey bro, you can design midi ccs if you select a midi channel, go to grid sequencer and Press Shift + F1.
You can control pitch bend and midi ccs but you can't control the qlink. I wish I could design my own envelopes for the mpc filter.
