I posted a question about resolution a while back and got a suggestion to double the BPM. If 1/32 note TC didn't work for you there's that. You can also change Tsig to 12/8 when you need space for a polymeter etc. I think those Tsig's are mostly for learning and letting other musicians know about the beat you want to play. The MPC doesn't care. It goes up to 15/16 Tsig.
Or you can turn TC off. I never use grid edit or TC. Free style is just more fun for me. Might use it sometime though. I think grid edit goes to 1/96 quarter note resolution (see manual) so maybe that would do it.

I never use swing feature either. Like to make my own swing. Been learning an old (new to me) song. It's first bar swings light on the 5 and 8, and hard on the 11 (in 12/8 Tsig). In the next bar the swings are somewhere else. It's considered a beginner song in Zim. Standard swing won't cut it.

Interesting link. Maybe if I read it few more times I'll understand.
