What jjos for an mpc 2500 SE?

I am going to buy an MPC 2500SE which has the original Akai OS and I would like to know which version of jjos will you recommend to me please?

There is a chart with the various os versions, so it depends on what YOU need and the way YOU work.
There are basically 2 variants : 128 or not (large screen that need to have -> 128)

you wanna to buy the os2xl, from there you can also use the os3 (2.5 branch (development still on-going) or 1.52 (consider the latter as being a FINAL release))

Yes. I would go for the OS2XL. From there you will be happy, and can also experiment with OS3 if you want and go back and forth.

This is how I plan to “work” with the MPC2500 and I would like to know if you think it is viable or not on certain points.
I would first like to compose my own melodies so I would start by creating loops on fl studio with my vst in software and on my synth via fl studio or on the MPC directly. I would put the drum kit and my loops directly on the compact flash card to build my songs on the MPC, am I right?
Not having a hardware mixer at the moment, I would mix either on the MPC or on FL studio.
