MPC 1000 - Randomize

Hello, this is my first post where because I can't find a direct answer on this.

Can the MPC 1000 (jjos2xl) generate random midi notes? I was thinking like the Roland TB-03...
If it doesn't, there is a way to kinda make it randomize?

Not that I'm aware of but you could try grid mode with step sound on so that every time you hit a note it moves to the next position... hit a bunch of random notes until you've got a pattern created.

Or maybe look at the line pattern mode, which is a bit like a step sequencer... you select your pad then chose which of the 16 steps it plays on... I really like this for building 1 bar drum loops... I can't remember using it for midi notes but worth trying... have a look about 8 mins in to see how the mode works...

Last thing I can think of is selecting chord mode and turning the arp on... not really random but again another way of getting a midi pattern.

Not random, but you can download free midi packs, like this one that has basically a short 'random' arpeggio pattern in every key imaginable.
I set them out on the 4 pages of tracks like an unrolled 'circle of 5ths' so they can be played (solo track) with some interesting results.
Can also use them as a basis for 'subtractive composing' lol, take notes away until you like it
