Sustain pedal to control note off-samples

Hi! I have a MegaDrum with mallet controller connected to my MPC1000. I have a variety of programs, most of which are set to One shot... some however are set to Note off, like a piano sample I control mostly with my KeyStep Pro.

Now, I'd like to be able to use a sustain pedal on like for example my marimba samples on the MPC1000. So that pressing the pedal would let the samples ring out. Right now the Note from the MegaDrum results in a very short hit with Note off but I'd like to be able to sustain it with a pedal.
I can't get this to work with the pedals I've tried plugging in to Footswitch 1 or 2. I've also tried via the KSP but it only affects the notes played on itself...

Any ideas?

Check the midi spec on JJ OS and see if it receives sustain over midi, also the ksp should transmit the message. Probably only works on instrument programs, but I don’t think the MOc footswitches have sustain as an option, better through the midi controller.
