How do you direct record?

I installed ver: 3.05 and tried to direct record the way you would with the MPC 2500 .I went to the main screen , went to type:drum , pushed the window button and nothing happened......what am I doing wrong?

Direct record is limited to tracks 61-64. Select track 61 and you'll see.
