I'm running OS 1.05. Direct Recording seems to work a bit better now. Although I've run into the following problems:

1. While using digital input "direct record" stops working after a while (but the analog signal still records fine). Although recording in the "record" menu the digital input works perfectly.

2. There is a small clip at the beginning of every recording, with both analog and digital inputs. This is easily fixed, but annoying.

3. You cannot hear anything except what you are recording in "direct record".
I would really like to be able to hear pre-sequenced and recorded parts while using "direct record". This actually really sucks.

Has anyone else run into these problems or maybe know if I'm doing something wrong?

i have not tried it yet but that last one sounds like a real pain, i'd submit it when some one confirms it

If you hit Over Dubb when you DR, you can hear the seq play. If you are doing voice overs, I recommend you turn off the metronome during playback and use head phones.

It works like a charm for me so far.

I did learn once you edit the name (Take xx) it becomes just a sample & will not play in seq. However, it is still a wave file, just assign it to a pad and trigger it as needed or chop it up & freak it that way. The recording quality was very good for my vocal experiment. Then again, that also depends on your vocal / mic chain.

So far I like it. You can be very creative with it. It's like a great sketch pad you can polish to a bright finish. :D
