hi,

does anyone know - with JJ's OS 4
does it still do that weird thing where if samples are auto/extracted/choppedup, then the quality degrades?

I read on here awhile back that to get better quality, you had to do each one manually...

Antonym? (sorry to call u out like this.) thanks!

it extracts in stereo, if that's what you're asking. i never got this whole thing about chops/extracts being any lower quality than the original.

so:
auto extract = stereo

manual extract = mono, if original sample was mono?

if the sample is stereo, it chops/extracts in stereo
if the sample is mono, it chops/extracts in mono.

if the sample is stereo and you pp it, it is mono.

That's kind of weird to me: I remember using Patched Phrase on AKAI OS 2.1 to remain samples in stereo, because when slicing them manually they would be converted into mono samples...

So did JJ just flip it the other way around now? Why is it not possible to remain BOTH sliced samples and Patched Phrases in Stereo...

The good thing is, that I use more sliced samples than PP's, so it does'nt matter much to me... but it's still strange isn'T it? ;)

for all i know using PP turns your sample into some 3 dimensional stereo sample, and you can only hear one because there are only 2 outs for the stereo outs
