Keep Getting 'Can't Execute' Message when Slicing, ??? help

just auto slicing , its not saying there's not enough memory all it says is 'can't execute' right after I auto slice.
i'm running jj 4.01
any ideas

Weird shit... just installed jj's os v. 4.02 and it solved the problem, don't know wtf thats all about but hope it doesn't happen anymore.

on another note- after upgrading v4.02 I still cannot Format the internal memory and get rid of all the crap that the cat who sold this mp to me put in there.
fck!!

if any of you masters came up with something to erase the internal memory please post, or if you've been in contact with jj about it.

Hey stale i already posted this in another thread in reply to your problem but here it is again

you could bypass this by starting up your mpc and load one small sample(like a hat) and assign it to a pad and then go to mode + load en press save to internal memory(all programs, all sequences etc) : the memory starts to delete everything(erasing sounds or something).. oh yeah, except for the small hat but who cares about that. just make sure you dont have your autoload on your internal memory. good luck

I got that message when i was experimenting and trying to autochop a minute an half long sample

so what is the timelimit for samples that you can chop, in the recording time it showed that I had lots of time , is it the case that you can't use all of the time available on the mpc 1000?

no its not that you cant use all the time - i just dont think it likes auto chopping large files - im not too sure of the exact lenght you can autochop at it probly dif for dif type of samples - experiment - try halving the sample your having problems and then auto choppin each half

That is what it says when the sample is too long (happens to me almost everytime I try to use auto-chop), somewhere in the JJ manual it tells you the maximum acceptable auto-chop sample length. I dont remember though.
