hey folks. so im pretty much a newb and im having a hard time figuring out how to slice samples with the new OS. Say i wanna slice a sample into 6 different pieces to assign to 6 different pads. Its probably a simple method but once again.. just trying to learn the basics. thanks. one love.

Yes, in fact it is quite simple - maybe read the manual? Link in my signature. Page 11, AUTOCHOP... you don't need autochop, but there you find out out how to change the no. of slices.

so i read the manual and it tells you how to auto chop and such but once i convert it into many slices or patch phrase where does the actual chops go? I am trying to assign them to the pads so i can play the chopped samples in different variations. The manual didnt really explain much after the convert part.

SELECT 'CREATE NEW PROGRAM' when you convert the slices and all the slices are added to the pads automatically... man thats even described in the original AKAI manual and therefore common knowledge...
