direct recording the main outs

Hi, has anyone been able to record the main outs to tracks 61+? It shows MAIN OUTS as a recording option but when I set it to this and hit record it records nothing. A sample of the given recording time appears but it's silent.

ps, recording the main outs under the record section works fine so I know it's not a hardware issue.

figured it out. Seems to work fine when I use overdub instead of rec.
