in the last OS (4.15), or am I just buggin?

I noticed that the start and end points don't stay the same when switching back and forth between trim and loop. When you are trying to loops a sample and if they are not at the exact same start and end points on both screens the starting point of the loop reverts back to the point set in Trim. The problem is you can't get a loop to play from the settings in Trim, and it's a real hassle having to make the adjustments on both screens before you can hear what your loops sounds like.

I also noticed on the loop screen..you can ONLY hear the loop if you press pad 13, and at that you have to hear the WHOLE sample played before it will play just the part you looped.

Is anyone having the same frustration. I didn't notice this until I made my last beat, and got mad frustrated on something I'm working on at the moment.

If I had a brain fart, and just missed something simple to avoid the problem, please let me know.

I just noticed when you are on the loop screen it won't play the start point you set even if you hit pad 13/play loop. It will only play the start point that you set in trim.

Pretty damn useless. I don't recall having this problem before. Why would JJ muck this up? It doesn't make any sense to me.

he added a "feature" so teh sample start isnt' the same as the loop start. Go into trim screen move the cursor to ST:00000000 and hit window. Set the option Loop point=Start point:NO to YES.

Really though, this should be YES by default all day. I use the loop as start more.

Thank you very much man. That solved my problem. I'm glad I spoke up because I don't know how long I would have figured that out.

What is the point of adding that feature anyway? I don't see how the other way would be useful at all.

one example to use this is for something with an attack and a fairly long sustain.

Let's take a piano sustained note sample for example. If you loop the end with this method then you can get the attack and hold the pad so that it starts looping only the end to extend the sample length.

what we need is some sort of reverse after sample loop. So if something does have a decay then it would swell up after the sample but in reverse. Kontakt has this feature and it's useful extending those samples that have decays.

That makes sense. I think I'm going to try that. Thanks again.
