REC-mode + Play = 'direct recording'

With JJ OS (tried with 4.15) MPC 1000 can play sequence and record audio from inputs at the same time also in REC-mode.

Load some samples, make a sequence, go to rec-mode. You can trigger sequence normally (play, play start, stop...) while you are in rec-mode.
You can even press Play/Play start, then F6 (Record), then F6 again (Start) and MPC plays sequence and records signal from inputs.
Then F6 (Stop): sequence and recording stop and you will see normal 'keep, play, cancel, assign to pad' window.
(Play/Play start etc. works in trim-mode also.)

Has anybody noticed this before? Lovely feature, maybe even better than direct recording.

If I undertsand what you're typing, I'm pretty sure you could do this with Akai's OS v2.1. I would build a drum track, and then go into REC mode to sample myself playing a bassline along to the drum sequence that I'd have running.

It is a super-cool feature, that much is true.
