Who's effectively using the DIRECT RECORD function

I tried to use the direct record function a while ago when it still had bugs in it and decided to leave it alone until the bugs were ironed out.

I haven't get to grips with it yet and I was wondering if any of you other JJ1000 users have put it to good use. I wanna use it for laying down scratches.

There are so many new features with this new OS it that it gonna be a while until my method of beat making become second nature (Like it was when using OS2.1)

i use it when i played my synth in midi and im happy about it to capture it to wave.

is there a way to make it automatically loop without having to change the bar structure?

can redirect the audio back into the sampler in on my mixer creating feedback).
I can search for the right volume with the volume pot for the aux. no to much volume otherwise the feedback takes over.
pressing (mode) record i can sample the effect i made.

this also worked in record mode and the monitoring on

it should also work without a mixer: connect your output to your input with the record volume down. then turn it up a bit and listen to whats happening.

also when your mixer does not have anough channels you can put a device in the input of your sampler. now you have that another device on the channels you have connected the 1k on.

IS JJ gonna make this stable? I bought the os for other features and workflow but if this is advertised as 1 of the new features, dont you think it should be improved upon? Ex. more tracks, song mode function properly,etc.

you guys are trippin. direct record has worked fine for ages now. an example of my use is using track 61 to record audio from my synth then routing track 61s audio output to the input of my fx device (the synth). i then record the effected audio track onto track 62...set track 62s output to the input of the fx device, change up the settings a bit, and record it to track 63. do the same for track 64 and you've got a ghetto way of 'undo' for the resampling process ;D

yea it's a little tricky, but works fine. i tracked guitar, keys, and percussion with it. i used a shure ksm 27 and an sm 57 going into a roland mmp-2 preamp and hooked it up via spdif. it sounded awesome.

my main shit is it needs 2 work in song mode and more tracks.

latest OS direct recording is not suitable for recording scratching as i said before.

I think?(not sure) it will work in song mode if its a sample in memory you can go to step edit in direct record track and find the tick the sample was triggered and just put it in the same tick on a regular track... bam! song mode compatible!!
