need some help quick

hi there just got my mpc. christmas and that deleted old OS off of it the mpc1k1.06 file and this other one cant remember name.

downloaded latest akai one yeah cos u need to spend money for jj OS so just using latest akai one. i know it aint all that grand but better than 1.06 so i got my v 3 or something and i have put it on my flash card. that the right thing to do or not?

just need some help as it didnt come with a manual.
