First,
Loving the JJ OS.
The Akai V2 was also dope, and Sparq was cool to show us what was up before it came out.
Was using the free V3 for three months, just stepped up to V4 last week, awesome. The Auto Chromatic, Slice and Global edit are dope.
Anyways, it's a new year, I also wanted to say thanks to Stan for the manual (good read, appreciate it) and Nym (been using his pad fixes for about a year now, helped me lay down some expressive parts without the full level button).
To give back a little, very simple trick, really amazing effect:
Tap a beat (drum or melody) on track 1 with any program (say IllHipKit).
Copy that track to track 2, copy the program to a new program (now called IllHipKit2).
Go into the PadF11, go to tuning, press whole to select all pads. Turn all pads of IllHipKit2 up a few cents until you have a nice sound that complements the original. Go back to the main screen and lower the velocity of track 2 so it blends in nice with the original.
Now, repeat this, while copying track 2 to 3 and IllHipKit2 to IllHipKit3. Take the tuning of IllHipKit3, tune all samples down on Pad+F11 a few cents. Lower velocity accordingly.
This is a dope chorus effect, doesn't use FX, and can thicken any thin ass drums or synth that you sample from any source (cassette/AMradio/Clock radio/cellphone/etc). Couple with some filtering and LFO's, super powerful.
Thanks all for the tips and help with the blue box, great, great piece of gear (and I've had the 60/2000/3000).
