seems pretty quiet on the new os front, so what's the deal, is it stable and what are the features?

well, i'm a bit disappointed because i really loved the look of what i thought would be the new main-screen. jj didn't change it. there is '''only''' the midi-grid edit. i didn't really test it yet.
and the new chop-screen is fantastic, i love it. only thing is "< bar" zooms out and "bar >" zooms in, i would switch that, feels strange, don't know why.
yeah, and simult-seq. it works, but i didn't find any way to set the volume of the simult-seq. and the track-velocity is ignored. so if i use loud samples in the simult-seq there is no way to make them play a bit more quietly. at the moment!
but i'm still in love with jj, i hope he still works on the new look of the main screen and everything he does is good and will forever be.

I would use the 1000's outputs connected to a real mixer instead of relying on a drum machine to mix tracks.

I'm personally loving these new chop functions. A lot smoother chop interface now, I can't wait to see the new main screen. Keep up the good work jj.

I like the way the new chop screen has been implemented too - much more fluid way of working.

But is the main screen going to chatnge? - I assumed he reworked the way that he had previously put it up on his website - I much prefer the way it is now - It looked kinda ccrap the way he had it before. To much of a change from the norm, think you can fiddle with something a bit too much - If it ain't broke don't fix it! - Thats the way MPC screens have always been laid out - just leave some sort of uniformality to it - Thats my two cents anyway...............

ey, i found something i did not know before! it's now possible to switch to the direct adio tracks by just selcting the "type:drum" field on every track and turn right. it says 'midi', as it should, but if you keep on scrolling it switches to 'audio' and go to track 57. nice!

and for the new main screen:
i agree, the old one is ok, everybody is used to it. and i don't really NEED a new look. but i like the idea of rearranging it, because on this screensot, jj gives every piece of text the size of its information. i like the way he changes the font-size of something like the 'drum' or 'midi' information, as it's just not important enough to have the same size as the number or the name of the track.
i nearly killed myself creating this sentence in english, which is not my native language. i hope you all understand what i'm trying to say.

at this point it doesn't need to look like an mpc anymore because believe it or not perfection has not been achieved with the current mpc page layout.

Yeah - I'm not averse to change - but just think that the way the simult sequence has been implemented into the main screen is a lot better than the way that it was proposed to work (screenshots on JJ's website - pre today)

Just thought that it was unneccesary tinkering.

pre mixing in the box itself doesnt hurt.....for some its the only option. Not every1 got tons of gear.

it's not a question of weight of the gear... but as the mpc only has 4 outputs and i'm using more than 4 tracks for my music, i don't see how (and why) i should not mix with the mpc track-velocity. to work with v1.xx and not having this feature was nearly impossble for me.
