Ok, I just bought the JJ OS and I now have my first issue.

I've installed 4.33 and it booted up with one of the Autoload Sequences, "DJ-Hip_Hop". However, when I press play, the sequence playback is extremely quiet, yet the pads playback at the correct level.

I know it's probably something obvious, but what am I missing here ??

Thanks in advance.

you need to go to the mode for global output and boost it up, i think itès in other mode.

If you're talking about MODE > PAD10 (OTHER) > GLOBAL, this has little effect. It defaults to -12db but even bumping it up to the max 0db makes very little difference and the sequence plays back much quieter than the pads.

hmmmm, i'm not sure then, but it may have something to do with the old os (1.07) using a default volume of 70 for pads, and the new one's default is set at 100.
I know when akai upgraded from 1.07 to 2 people had similiar problems due to this.
Also, maybe check the pad sensitivity settings... they may need to be adjusted.

hope this helps. :D

Anyone ??? This is doing my head in !!

I reloaded OS 2.10 and everything is fine. Sequence and samples play back at the correct volume, but when I load the JJ OS, the volume for sequence playback is vastly reduced :(

A couple of things.

[MAIN SCREEN]
1.Under the time sig (defaults to 4/4) set LV: 100
2.Under track velocity (also in main screen) make sure it is at least 100% or 200%.
As long as your global volume is set right, and EQ is right, this is the only other possible thing I can think of. I hope this helps..Good luck!

strange... here's some other things that might help...

bin file was corrupted during download, maybe download and try again, or try one of the older JJ os versions (4.15 was pretty stable)...
or perhaps it has something to do with the new velocity level for simult mode (havn't used 4.33 yet so i'm guessing it could have an effect on sequence volume).

I assume you've tried it with other sequences and samples (besides the HIPHOP preset), if not I'd try some other projects/samples/programs/sequences to see if it still does this with newly recorded samples and programs.

good luck!

It was the track velocity !! All tracks were set to 0% !

Thanks man, now I can go to bed and rest easy. Hopefully my JJ unlock code will be waiting in my mailbox when I wake up :)

Thanks again c10 :D
