mpc 1000 splash screen

How does the MPC 1000 slash screen supposed to work? I have the mpc1000.bmp file provided at the JJ site... I have 4.36 installed.... and I have the bitmap file located in the root of the HD and the memory card. I still don't get the splash screen. How do I activate this function?

turn on without the CF card insterted...

freezerman - Makes no difference... the slashscreen is not displayed, regardless if the card is inserted or not.

Make sure the picture is is 1bit colormode - only black and white
