Missing Samples

Ive been using the Mpc for years now and i never really had a problem with bugs other than some saving problems, one thing thats happen to me since the first OS and thru all of JJs is the "missing file" thing. I usually load up all my Kits and have a sperate beat on every sequence and just save it as a autoload. But everynow and then when i turn it on and my autoload folder loads up. Some or mostly all of my samples show up like this ?sample34 or ?snare12. Just today i loaded up my autoload and everything seemed fine other than about 3 samples missing. And i went and loaded up 2 new kits and all the samples on the new kits showed up with a ?. Is there anyway to prevent this?

sorry to hear your having these problems, I would suggest, not 'double clicking' on everything when it comes to the net, only one click is needed. that is an old win98 thing, your using xp, though most can change these settings, but when it come to IE and FF for eg, you only need one click!

now abuot these missing samples, i would not really use AUTOLOAD, i would suggest, saving your music in a more organised fashion, EG; naming your samples with conventional meaninful names, along with your pgms and seq's into a folder. it is also good to save/replace over files that might have been dramatically changed as you have made your music.

adopt these methods and i am sure you will no longer have these problems...

i believe many of these things are due to human error.
