Greetings to Everyone I'm A New User and just have one quest

I've purchased the jj os as well as the mpc tutorial and I'm doing ok as far as loading samples and making beats from scratch, but i'm having some trouble with Loops.
what is the best way to load a full loop into the mpc-1000 and have it play synced to the rest of the beat. I thought I could just load a 4bar bassline in
and slice it, and then have it play nicely along with the rest of the sequence
but it looks like I have to slice it and then trigger each slice manually. is there a better method for doing this?

im not sure.. but when you chop the sample. try converting to patched phrase. i think F3 ...
not sure but that mite be what youre talking about

so if I use the patch phrase you're saying that I won't have to trigger the pads, the patch phrase will just turn into a 4bar sequence?

the mpc is exactly designed to loop samples. its more of a sample chopping machine and sequencer. You could slice up that 4 bar loop and play it on the pads as it was originally played then you would have your loop..thats what i do

that's what I thought pigpen, I was hoping I could do the slice and go thing like with intakt/fL slicer or recycle/dr rex, but if not then i guess i'll have to trigger them manually.

i'd say it's way better for your music to have to enter the notes in manually. by forcing you to take that extra step.

yep, it can be overwhelming if you have to learn the basics of the MPC...

but if the features where there all in one shot, I would be overwhelming anyway...

some of the features are overwhelming, i agree
probably 6 pad grid edit (start with 16, it's easier)
and maybe global param edit if you didn't know the params already
but qlink - that's a good starting place.
remember, in the akai NO-ess 2.01 you could only assign a qlink to ONE PAD AT A TIME - jj's os lets you put qlink to TRACK. MUCH better.

hi , n welcome again....!
so if u want the bassline to be in sync, (at any tempo), u need a patched phrase .....make sure you trim the loop neatly, determine the bpm first yourself (cos sometimes the patched phrase bpm calculations can be slightly off).....then chop the file in trim mode, but then choose patched phrase,ste the tempo (if necessary) then once its done and u assign it into a prg - it should be fine, try putting a pad hit at the start of yer 4br seq.
