I finally got my MPC1000 and Love it!!!

Whats up everyone My names Wes Im 22 yrs old and i just purchased a mpc1000(black)Pretty sure its the jjos. Im tottaly new to the mpc world and i started playing around with the sounds that came with the mpc. i already figured out how to sequence a track, sample , do some pitch changes and time stretch. i cannot belive how easy this machine is to work on. I personally thought i wouldnt have a clue how to use it. My question is When i record the patterns for instance on the hi hats i play it and it sounds the way i want it to, but when i play the track back it is tottaly different? the same goes with the 808 and the kick , is there a setting i can change to make this correct? this question probaly been asked a few times on here and theres probaly a answer around , but i just dont know what the term is to search for it? any help is much appreciated.

i have a similair "issue" this happens for me not when i play the sequence back, bit if i record the audio into cubase on my PC, then play it from cubase. things sounds more full and clean, less grungy, is this because its a different audio format or "clarity"

props wes check your pms

hit the tap tempo button and make sure you're on 1/16 or 1/32 resolution depending on where you want it to place notes. if it's on 1/8th by default, that means there are only 8 specific spots in one bar where a hit can be 'recorded' so chances are that its forcing your higher resolution notes to different locations and even omitting others. hope that helps man.

Thanks fellas this site makes me feel very welcome, i actually figured this one out.
What i did was i pressd F1 i think (T.C) and i kept it on 1/16 for the kick n the snare. But when i wanted to play the hi hats freely i turned the Note off and Bam it worked perfectly, it was the identical same way i played it. i cant wait to really get into this mpc , i usually use reason 3.0 and a midi and i love that. my plan is to try to figure out alot of stuff with the mpc then use reason 3.0 a as sound module.

welcome to the club - you've described my studio verbatim, + of course vinyl, samples, a mic, and vhs. reason is great - with a program like that it'll be a long time before i ever feel pressed for another module.
