I remember when this worked, the "simulted" pad would also change tune with the original sample. Does anyone get this?

My bug report:

"16 levels"
when in "tune" option
+ simult pad
simulted sample does not change tune along with tuned sample, this did work when simult pad was first introduced. please restore this as it is very useful for making complicated sounds, ie.. applying LFO's, amp, filter modulations to other samples without affecting original or other selected simulted samples, along with Qlink changes in real time before committing to autochromation.

what's up sweep. read this and comprehend it--i detail your problem, give you a solution, and explain why it must stay the way it is.

16 levels puts QLINK data onto a pad.
simulting a pad puts 2 pads together.
it used to be that 1 qlink on TUNE on the first pad TUNED both the first pad and the simulted pad.

this presented a problem in that if i wanted the simulted pad to be effected by a qlink, qlink data would be ignored because the mpc applied any qlink data from the first pad onto the simulted pad.

keeping the qlink data separate from the first pad and the simulted pad gives you more control over each individual piece.

HOWEVER - here's the solution to your problem.

step 1 - make new program
step 2 - set sample 1 on pad layer 1
step 3 - set sample 2 on pad layer 2
step 4 - autochrome the pad.

you now have what you were looking for to begin with.

Dont use the 16 lvls -> tune much, but valid point here.

to have QLINK data effect not only the first pad but also the simulted pad removes individual control over the 2 pads.

however, if you do want to control both pads with 1 qlink info (16 levels OR qlink), don't use simult. put them both on the same pad.

but (exclude Qlink for a moment)

what if I just wanted to say, change lfo data, filter, or any combination of modulation to diffrent samples (experimenting of course in creating a new a sound BEFORE i go to autochromation)

Sample1 = being an orchestral with a long sustain
Sample 2 = being an electonic moog sound, but with a short strong LFO
Sample3 + being an a bass sound of sorts

you could even begin to use different filters as well until you come up with what you are looking for

Then autochomation

Nym you were faster and valid point too. I think its easier to work this way, as a workaround you could just copy and transpose the notes instead of using simult.

but how could I be able to mod the second layer w/out affecting the first? and vice versa?

I do prefer the autochromatic process

but for the sake of experimentation, I just thought 16 levels was a good starting point to audition a sound thought? but I do understand, maybe I am just stuck on 16 level Tune?

ok, so exclude 16 levels, you could "simult pad" in experimenting, ie.. everything above, but still when aautochromating, the simulted sample does not appear, I still see this as very useful, By the way thanks for the fast response .

ok I think I get it?

My suggestion should be that when a "simulted sample" is being Autochromated

In the now new program the simulted sound shoould be autochromated as well in the new program, this would allow me to do what I wanted to do

The Simulted sample Does carry to the new program but it is not autochromated as well. Nym would this adversely affect any other feature?
