Trim function, difference in JJ and 2.1 OS

I am going to be switching to JJ as soon as I am finished with the MPC1000 ebook tutorial (that way I wont be confused with changes, I will already know how to do basic stuff, just switching OS issues will be the only issue). Anyway, in JJOS, when you trim a file, then extract it to a new file, do you have to go back to the old file and remove the trim points so the old file will play all the way through? Kind of annoying to do that if you are using both files in a song, you know.

Yeah it does do that. If you want to keep one file intact, and also extract pieces, then what I would do is copy that sample and keep one un-touched and use the copy for extraction purposes

The switch to JJ isn't hard either. I went JJ less than 2 weeks after I got my 1000 and there's been no turning back
