Stereo sample to mono out

Stereo sample to mono out

Justed noticed something which i think shouldnt be that way: If you rout a stereo sample to a mono output, only one channel of the sample will be played. For example select output 4 you will hear the right channel. I expected the audio to be mixed down to mono and then sent out of the output, dont know if thats possible though.
Any thoughts?

The outs are hardwired as mono aren't they?

So you'll ONLY get 1 channel through them.

Stereo samples get routed 1/2 3/4 or main outs.

Mono samples get routed 1 2 3 4 or main outs.

That's in the manual if I'm not mistaken.

i think the conversion is not so much a conversion as a take one channel away process.

Never said it was abug, it only was quite annoying. Took me a while to track it down because i thought it was from the fx on my mixers channels.

Would be nice though if you could select which channel of the sample will be sent to the output.

Opps i requested a new feature, sry :roll:

You can chose how you convert, there is also an option to convert stereo to mono by adding L & R. But you can also pick one single channel as you like.

Yeah if you do the L+R > Mono option it combines both channels into one, I do it all the time to save on polyphony. It doesn't just cut one channel - though you can do that - it will combine them if you want it to.
