Editing parameters for all pads - easier with JJ OS?

Hi,

I usually make program with Bluebox, but I often have the need to change a certain parameter for a group of pads later when I use the programs in the mpc. This is a pain to get done in the Akai OS, and it is the same pain to apply an effect setting to all pads. Maybe I am just to dumb to figure out how to edit many pads simultaneously like it is possible in Bluebox.

Is this easier with JJ OS? How are others handling the editing, I usually transfer programs via CF card, but I am thinking about adding a harddrive to the mpc. I normally want to boot the laptop for mastering only, that's what I bought the unit for. But still pushing buttons on the mpx monkey-style sucks.

JJ has global pad edit or global program edit (whatever its called) GPE.

mode+pad 11 i think (im at work, so thats off the top of my head)

anyways in GPE you can select the whole range of pads.
im not sure if it can do grouped selections like you would in the computer. but either way it shows most of the program parameters for all pads on the same screen.

it's much easier with os 4. go to global program edit, chose the range of pads you want to edit and, well, do it. it's that simple! since gpe, i don't use bluebox anymore.

me neither.

i keep every program in its own folder and sequentially load each sample. it takes no time and JJOS is smart enough to figure out that the next loaded file probably should go on the next pad.

editing multiple params is FAR faster on the jj os. Global Parameter Edit is very very fast. it allows you to change the first LAYER of your program very quickly.

however, you have 3 more layers. this changes still need to be made 1 at a time.

i just completed this graphic to show how a WHOLE function in the velocity layer screen could make building complicated programs MUCH faster.
