Bug Fixes: New OS Ver5.22 14-Jun-2007

1. [LOAD]
  If it goes to a MAIN screen after the motor of HDD stops at a LOAD screen,
  the motor of HDD turns on.

2. [LOOP WINDOW]
  The value of 0 can be chosen as "Last Bar:".

3. [TRIM]
  It is not reflected when ZOOM OUT what START POINT changed in ZOOM IN.

4. [TRIM]
  [CHOP]
  [EDIT]
[F2] Convert to SLICED SAMPLES
The start point of the sliced sample is the 220 sample point front.

5. [SAVE A SAMPLE]
  [shift+jog wheel] doesnt work.

6. [SONG]+[MIDI SYNC SLAVE]
  It does not locate right.

we lose way too much info when this happens. and i can tell you that first-hand from being in the official 1k forum.
when newbies can't find info, sometimes it's not their fault because valuble info is hidden 200 pages deep.

This shouldn't work as it was a bug that has been fixed.
Wouldn't make sense anyway, would it? :wink:

Actually it would make sense.
Ever used a 3k?
The 3k does LOOP TO xx.
IF JJ did it right then 0 would have worked out to be OFF based on the no bar to loop back to after the first pass from the start.
If it was 4 then it would look like this
0=1 2 3 4 stop
1=1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4....
2=1 2 3 4 2 3 4 2 3 4.....
3=1 2 3 4 3 4 3 4 .........
4=1 2 3 4 4 4 4 4..........

Understood.
But the 1k (and I guess the 2k5, too) does first bar to last bar, and in that case it doesn't make sense to choose 0 as last bar.

Actually the 1k/2500 feature is (and this is the Akai design not just JJ) pointless.
It determine start and end not a loop point.
If it is set for 5 and 8 it starts at 5 and continues to play 5-6-7-8-5-6-7-8....
instead of 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-5-6-7-8-5-6-7-8.....
It's more of a sequence play mode than a loop mode.
Again Akai made that change and JJ has just continued with it.
It's amazing how far JJ has taken the 1k/2500 but still I'm done playing around with the 2500 and it's kinda bad since the BIT Reducer actually sounds pretty good.

I'd say the 3k and 1k/2k5 loop just are different, and both can be useful. But can the 3k only loop the whole sequence?
I think it's useful to be able to select an end point.
Just imagine you have like 50 bars in one sequence and want to loop bar 4-8.
If I got you right, you could only loop 4-50 on the 3k?

The 3k has an EDIT LOOP button that allows you to set the number of bars
it will repeat.
The thing people are missing is the old MPC would loop what you specified when it went into overdub while the new ones loop it in the first pass.
You are actually telling the 1k/2500 what to play which is also what it will loop.
The older MPC's would play the sequence and then play the selected loop range in overdub or second pass.
Maybe I'm the only one who missed it don't know but it's a past factor now so I have stop trying to help JJ understand.
He made at least 3 changes when I was trying to explain but I could never get it to him clearly.
Partial communication barrier and part unfamiliarity with teh older MPC's would be my guess.
