I recently bought a 2gb ultra sandisk cf card to replace mt 1gb of the same kind sense I needed more space. the only problem is that when I need to update, the mpc cant find the o.s. on the card. i tried formatting it many different ways, but still nothing worked, it still is fine on the 1gb one, but i dont want to have to go get that card when I need to update. I guess its not a big deal at all but just wondering if anyone had any ideas to why this is happening, thanks

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'tried formatting it many different ways'. It takes a while even on my 256 Mb card for the system to find the OS bin file. Are you sure you're allowing the time necessary for it to scan the whole 2Gb?

yea, now i have it formatted as fat instead of fat 36 like it was before. it just says "looking for os" or something like that twice and then says it couldnt find the os and reboots after 5 sec

Just put the bin file on your card, turn it w/o holding down the window button. Then go to LOAD and load it from there. It'll load fine. Then it'll say switch off, do so, then turn back on and you'll be updated.

actually that didnt work because once it resets it looks for the os and it cant be found and goes into a "system hault" i had to restart it with the 1gb card to get it to work again.
