Is This a Limitation of "Poly", "Mono" When Playing Samples?

have a mpc 1000 jj os 3.06

i created a sample sequence on track one with samples set in mono, made a 4 bar loop.

so i go to add the drums on track 2 and the drumps cancel out the samples if played at the same time on track one

i go to switch to poly so i can play both at the same time and the sample on track 1 sounds horrible overlapping itself


anyway to fix this? or am i just going to have to go back and rechop

this part of the mpc sucks

put the drums on a separate program...

or use mute groups

or turn each pad to NOTE ON intead of ONE SHOT and make each one last exactly however long you want.

Or just make a copy of the same program and put it on a different track, and then even if it's a MONO program the separate tracks will not mute each other as they are two (or more) different programs of the same thing.

also fix the volume levels in program mode.
