working with midi tracks

Hi every one
I'm trying to sequence sample from my esi4000 with a midi controller plugged into the midi mpc i'm used to doit with the mpc2000 where i just set a track input to midi with the proper midi in/out on the main screen.

When i do the same on the 1k with (jj inside) i don't receive the midi message sent by my midi controller on the esi.
What i do is just turn a track on the main screen from drum to midi
and select 1a for the midi in/ouput

what else should i set to make the midi message of the midi controller transmited to the sampler?

not sure about your setup, but heres mine...

i have my midi keyboard running to midi input 1.

i have the mpc midi out a running to the in of my electribe(soundmodule)

in the midi settings(mode + pad 5?) make sure that its set to as track.

this way the data will run out of the keyboard, thru the mpc and into the the electribe, letting you play the sound module with the keyboard and recording the midi performance on the mpc.

Taht is exactky how i'm set up but i still can't et any midi receive messae on the esi (midi receive led blinking)
When i change the PC on the main screen the midi reeive led bliks so i suppose the midi message are sent from the mpc to the esi
