I will (hopefully) be selling my 2500 soon. But I was also thinking about getting a 1000 in the future for travelling purposes (I might study abroad next year). I have the JJ OS installed on my 2500, does anyone know if the JJ OS password can be transferred to the 1000 (if I buy one sometime in the future)?

I will probably have to spend another $30 for another OS password for the 1000 (fair enough) but I wanted to just double check.

Nope.

From my understanding, you're password is strictly based on the serial# of ur machine.

A litte more evident here:

Notice.
A password is not given to the user who also gives a product.
When you have two-set MPC, the password for two sets is required.

Also when you newly get MPC or it exchanges for MPC to which the password is not given,
it is necessary to newly purchase a password.

Peace!
