hi,

when using track mutes events, if the track is muted, should the track mutes events in that track be processed or not ? (is it meant to mute and unmute even if the track containing the mutes is muted ?)

i just realized that the latest os was processing the track mutes events even if the track container is muted. I wonder if it is a bug or a feature ?

thx :)

Whats a "track container"?

There are no different track mutes, the events are the same as the status shown.
If the track mute events could be muted this whole thing wont work because there are no different "levels" of track mutes.

Hope that makes it clear.

lol. just after posting i realized it might not be clear.

to make it clearer:

i have 3 tracks. tracks 1 and 2 plays some beats.
in track 3 i record track mutes for 1 and 2 (so that 1 and 2 mutes and unmutes automatically)

at the moment, when i mute track 3, track 1 and 2 will still automatically mute and unmute.

i would have thought that if i mute track 3, then the mute automation should stop. or is it a feature ?

does it make more sens :?:

Hmm, I've never actually made a dedicated track just for track mute events, but it's an interesting technique.

Have you checked to make sure that you don't have the same mute events recorded on track 1 and 2 also?

I'll have to try this out and see what happens

Ok I tried it and I get the same thing

So I guess track mutes events aren't mutable

The track mute events are always recorded to the track they effect.

this is right.
i first thought about using an extra-track for track-mutes, too. but it doesn't work.

i am pretty sure that i can have trackmutes event in a given track, muting other tracks.

do you guys mean something different ?

i think it was different in earlier versions, but now it's not possible to record mute events on different tracks...
