About Updating The OS

I noticed that JJ updated to version 4.82 today.My question is,do i have to reformat my cf card every time i install a new os?Oh and do i still have to install the new updated version the same way as the first time by pushing down the mode button while starting up?Thanks

you dont have to format the card-yes, just hold down the window key on startup.

you can also load a new os by going to the load screen, and locating the .bin file on the cf card/hard drive, then press [Do it].
