I know Copy Pad and Purge (and possibly Velo. Modulation), but is there anything else?

velocity modulation is in GPE if you hit WINDOW over attack/decay - i THINK. so much of GPE is muscle memory like dialing a telephone now. my fingers know where it be.

i think it's accessed the same way in OPE

but otherwise...as you said, COPY and PURGE.
otherwise, unless i'm missing something, there is nothing missing

similarly, there wouldn't be anything that is that is more accessible from OPE than GPE, especially if the VELOCITY RANGE was "moded" to by MODE + 7.

exact same screen, and in MODE pad 7, exact same easy access.

I checked and couldn't find Velo. Modulation. Pressed WINDOW over Attack and Decay and it was just the Amp Env. Maybe it somewhere else, but I checked quite a few places.

I just got the word from JJ sayin' we can't add Copy Pad and Purge. So we need to get rid of something so we can add these features. I say we all decide on kicking Splashscreen out and adding these features (Copy Pad and Purge) to GPE and Adding the Velocity Layer Screen as the first thing users see (Like Nym said) so we can soon get rid of OPM. And after that we can get some serious stuff added. Lets just do it 1 by one.
Come on guys, we got rid of Pong and got a bunch of great stuff! Lets drop the toy features (like Splashscreen) and little by little we can get even more stuff! :D

Yeah, wonder if there would be enough space to perform auto chop in near real time and use the qlinks to change the values and watch the chops change as you adjust. That would probably take of lot of power to perform though.

Have you gone to chop a sample and hit the SLICE button (F3)? I think it might do what you're talking about.

Slice chops it up according to a number value. I want something like that but done in refrence to the attack and recovery time. It does it now, but I was thinking something faster that I can see the results happen as I adjust the values sort of like in some software. Thats what I'm talking about.

Ok, gotcha. Yeah, that might take up a nice chunk of code.

I was thinking the same thing.

there is the sample level. This is something which is not available in GPE (despite the fact that in the OUT tab you get the level settings, these are unrelated to the level settings you get for each layer in OPM).

I don't know if I'm clear, but this has been a rant of mine for a while: GPE won't let you crank up to 100 the level of all samples for the programmes made with old OS versions. The LEVEL field in the OUT tab is something elese.

Wait a second. I thought you wanted to get rid of OPM to free more space, and now we need to free space to get rid of OPM...?

because we have 2 program modes.

1 is vast and expedient
the other is completely based on 1 pad at a time

there are 2 functions in the latter that have not yet been ported to the former
it would take more code for them to be in both at the same time.

for them all to be in GPE, with NO OPM, there'd be more code
meanwhile, if they existed in both GPE and OPM, the bulk increases.

GPE should be the program builder
OPM is the "old way."

I want that too

I vote ditch OPM. What took an hour takes a few minutes in GPE!

Why do you need both? Can't JJ throw out OPM and enhance GPE in one turn?
