Its time for mpcs to read other formats then just .wav and .snd. JJ if your reading this you need to make your os read .aif and maybe mp3. Just make the mpc read more audio formats so WE don't have to spend so much time converting everyting to .wav. Does anyone agree with me?

yes, and need to read archives with more of 18 letters. Is very tedious to rename big libraries!

Just use a batch file converter. It's quick and easy.
Beside that, it would waste valuable code space on the JJ OS to read MP3s, when more important issues have been discussed here.

Do a Google search for "Bulk Rename Utility". that software will help you out alot.

I use awave and renamer, but, if you have a carpet with 8917 hit-hats and cymbals, with names like: Paiste_ride_cup_velo004_openmic.wav........ rename that and change the frecuencies and bit resolutions... pfffff, is booooooored!!!!! And if you have archives of 24bit, normaly the volume is very low........ and you need pre-normalice, etc...etc...etc.....

Other Problem is that the "carpets" that have got more of 800 of 900 sounds are very slow to open and don´t display the sounds that are over this number...... (sorry for the english)

Why don't you just sample whatever it is you want converted? If you can get sound from it, the MPC will record it. Easy fix.

Yes, I agree that the MPC 2500 should read other formats..like previous Akai samplers. Akai should start by making it compatible with Akai native and MPC formats samples..and sample CD Roms. The MPC 2000 and 3000 can do this.

However, it will probably never happen. This has been a top request for 2 years now.

Almost all hardware samplers/synths will have character limitations.

Expanding this actually takes up space that can be allocated elsewhere.

Who knows what the limitations of the MPC 2500 or 1000 are...but the capabilities of these MPCs far exceed those of the MPC 60, 2000, 2000XL and 3000.

But they also fall terribly short of really crucial features if you are going through the external hardware/midi control, Q link destinations, cross-fading samples etc.

As a beat box sequencer it does more than it's meant to, so it's great in that respect.
Marketed as a fully fledged sequencer is a misnomer in my eyes.
