Damn , i thought JJ was saying that the swing setting will be remembered.
I tested it out and no luck.
Did this actually change anything?
seems to me it didn't.

Many thanks to JJ for continuing to maintain the firmware!

He has collected his money and could have let the software stay as it is. I like to think he's not just in it for the money :)

Disagree. Nobody does this for free.

Jahrome, you might want to get a better class of people you associate with. Specifically I was referring to JJ continuing to update the OS when most of his income is probably already made. But continuing to maintain the code because a bug needs fixing is the right thing to do, money or no money.

If I had the skills and the source code and tools, I would be very keen to get in there and fix a few things myself although I would be giving it away for free. That's just me.

Cheers,
B

LivePsy, you might want to stop gargling by bodily fluids....

Specifically, you have no clue how "JJ's" income is being made. What you assume sounds silly. If Akai continues to sale the MPC 1000 and the MPC 2500, that would potentially translate to more JJ OS sales since the OS is locked to a particular unit and can't be bootlegged. It is in JJs financial interests to continue to improve the OS and get rid of all the bugs. This work is being done for profit and not the good nature of his/her/their hearts.....just like the dude in the MPC 3000 forum is slangin his new OS for profit.

It doesn't matter what you would give away for free. These guys are running businesses...or using their skills to obtain new employment.

I don't particularly disagree with you, Jahrome. But it depends on the percentage of MPC's with paid JJ OS (and therefore the total possible market). I assume that most of them have JJ paid for, in which case these small updates are a bonus because JJ already has most of the possible income. My assumption could very well be incorrect.

What you say is true if the percentage of JJ licenses is small compared to the number of MPC's out there, although the current JJ 5.40 vs Akai 1.23 is IMO enough reason to buy a JJ password. No further updates or bug fixes would entice buyers if they haven't bought now - IMO of course.

There's the unknown quantity: how many MPC's are sold and the percentage which also bought JJ OS. Either JJ has a steady income stream which will last for years, or most of the income has already been reaped. In any case, JJ is releasing updates for increasingly minor misfunctions, a sign that the developmebt phase is over. Compare this to Akai having long standing bugs and refusing to address them. Then I think that JJ deserves thanks for the minor bug fixes.

Cheers,
B

I can't seem to find Jdubs official website so i'll ask here.. Does the recent OS save all settings (effect, mixer etc.?)
If anyone can help this idiot find his site and manual if one exists it would be greatly appreciated.. Clown me if it makes you feel big but can anyone help a brother out?

This is not a post hijack.. I'll pay for the update if its worth it. So where does it live?

peace
