When I do my hi hats I might set a 16th note repeat for the closed high hat and then record it on one track. then I will pick an open high hat and bring it in on maybe an 8th or a 4th note. I'll use the mute target setting and set the open high hat to mute the closed high hat and everything will work fine. when I hit stop then play back the sequence the open high hat doesnt sound or it will be a clicking noise in its place.
Also in the grid edit when you record midi, if you hit stop during previously recorded data while its playing back in over dub it will erase the remaining information in the note.
