I have a MIDI problem with the 4.89 OS. If i record MIDI notes then stop the SEQ, the first time the seq plays after pressing PLAY START there is a ms stutter/pause (right at 1.02.00) of any note started before that time. But then after the SEQ loops the 2nd time around all notes play fine with no stuttuer at 1.02.00.

Is anyone experiencing this??? Its driving me crazy cause I just made the switch to JJ OS.

I found that this stutter doesn't happen if I stop the SEQ then press "PLAY" instead of "PLAY START". Definitely seems like a bug with the PLAY START button and 4.89.

Update:

Problem seems to happen if the a MIDI note starting on 001.01.00 and the duration goes passed 001.02.00. Its like the note is cutoff the first time around if the seq is stopped and PLAY START is used..

are you syncing with your DAW host? MTC has a slight delay has it sends/receives. Solve this by adding a bar before you start tracking in your DAW

Thanks for the reply....

No i'm not syncing with my DAW, just MIDI out to my synth (Korg R3).

Ive found that if I set the MPC as Master with Midi clock I dont have the problem/stutter with PLAY START button. Problem may be with korg R3's clock, not sure. I dont have any other external synths to test with unfortunately.

I posted this like a week or 2 ago and there have been about 3 or 4 other posts on this topic. I'm glad cause I thought I was the only one.
It is a bug and I reported it to JJ. I just hope he understood cause based off of what we know about it, it has weird behavior pattern. But all of the symptoms that you described are the same ones I've experienced. I hope he catches it on the next update, if not then we'll have to find a better way to try to explain. Dang these language barriers!

Does the midi note cutoff thing happen with all your synths?? Ive found with the MPC set to MASTER OUT (MIDI ClOCK or MTC) the note doesn't get cutoff the first time the seq loops.

I guess I can get by with just pressing PLAY instead of PLAY START but it definitely seems like a midi bug..

I already reported this as a bug on the JJ site, we will see what happens.
