So how are your new MPC 1000 pads?

I was wanting to know if any of you guys have replaced your pads with the new pad design that akai has cooked up with the original all in one design as the other MPC and what do you think about them. I was thinking about purchasing some from Vst soon so holla at ya boy!

Is the pads an "uppgrade" from akai?

I emailed one of the best musik stores in sweden asking if they gonna bring in the new pads from akai.

The answere was that he thougt it was someone jerking of trying to fool people.. (i know this isn´t true)

He said there hasn´t been any advertisment of the pads and that the pads isn´t for sale in the akai list.... hmmm?

So, is this the official akai product? (i think the answere is yes)

yes, but they're certainly not proud i don't think
they seem to be treating it real gingerly

is there a way for me to prove to him this is an official product?
Like a secret webpage with this information on akais official web page?

mpcstuff or vst, both authorized akai sales sites, are selling the fix through them. try those.

I wrote to akai support US through their website and got an answer saying it was an official upgrade indeed, and would be soon on the website (yes, I believe that....). I copied the mail to the French distributor that (like your swedish guys) was claiming the upgrade was not akai...

so let me get this straight.

Akai is charging us 180$ for potentially a downgrade to a lower MPC pad model?

It is possible to order them from VST or mpcstuff if you live in sweden.. it will cost about $210 in total, just keep your fingers crossed you won't have to pay extra import right and such.

Freezerman... Did you ever get a response to your upgrade problem? Also, I've read that a few people have had problems with their LCD screens after installing the new pads. Anyone have this problem, and were you able to correct it?
I'm looking to buy the new pads sometime after Christmas, and just about three months ago I bought all new pads from mpcstuff. If anyone wants to buy them, I could let them all go for about half of the price... I'm just ganna eat it arent I... Recall?

I sent mail on saturday, I don't expect any reply from akai support, but most likely soon from MPCstuff
