So, I just hooked up my mpc to control guru in ableton. guru and the mpc have different midi notes mapped to the pads so i need to change the midi notes that the MPC sends out when the pads are pushed. I am in the midi/sync settings where the various pads and their assigned midi notes are shown but the problem is that if I change the note assigned to a pad, it shows that note as being assigned to the new pad but when i actually push the pads the settings are the same as they were before I made the changes. For example, Pad 1 is assigned C#1 by default, and if I change it to C 1 the change registers on the screen (it says C1 is assigned to pad 1) but when I push pad 1 ableton is still getting a C#1 signal. Please help!

I want to be able to recall my custom midi note output assignments that i assigned in the midi/sync settings and also not have to select midi channel 1A every time i want to output midi. How can I get these settings saved and the recalled when I want them (preferabley automatically upon start up). Is there any way to change the default settings? Please help. Thanks.

Oops, please ignore that last post. It was meant ot be its own topic not a response to this thread. I did figure out why the settings werent sticking. I had one of the internalk memory drum programs selected and those programs have their own midi noter assignments that were overriding the settings I was putting in. Deselecting the program fixed the problem. Now all I have to figure out is the best way to save and recall the settings now that they are working.

thats the way id do it, but cant we set this prog to internal memory, and have it load each time the mpc boots up?

i am having the same problems...and didn't quite get it how you guys are doing it. any chance of a simple step by step explanation for my dumb ass on how to save midi-not-assign or having an easier workaround without needing to reassign everything each time i start my mpc? thanks!
