What do I need to do?

Ok, so i wanna get the jj os, but im a little bit worried about a few things. now, when putting it on my mpc does it work like the regular akai os or do i need do do something special? i heard you have to reformat your hd....but wont that erase my hd? can some on please explain the process of doing this? i dont want to lose any info on my hd.

1. Copy contents of HD to computer
2. Download JJos and pay for it
3. Install the same as Akai os
4. When you receive your password go to the save screen and enter it
5. reformat your harddrive
6. Copy the contents of the HD from the computer back onto your HD
7. Make music!

ps. I never reformatted my drive and all is good! 12months and rock solid!
