Anyone customize their 1k?

There is a thread on this site regarding customizing the 2kxl. It made me wonder what kind of mods people have done to their 1k. It's also been a while since anyone posted their latest splashscreens... Peace

i haven't done any physical customizing to my MPC though... but it'd be nice to see a new round of pics of what people have done. i'll admit, i'd consider buying wooden side panels if they sold them... i love seeing wood on vintage looking gear.

I was thinking that too. Wooden side panels would look great especially with the blue version... If you look on the Forat site, they have tons of customized MPC's but not one 1k. But the blue mpcs with a light colored wood panel look great.

I've been wanting to add wooden side panels for quite awhile...

I have access to a wood shop just need to make the correct sizings for the screws/attachments

I've considered black walnut or cherry,
purple heart would look great on a blue 1k!


also I'd love to get Black Pads for my 1K, it would look DEADLY !

i was changing the downside plate with an aluminium one to save wight, i would like to have more aluminium parts for the 1k especially
the upper plate....i had to takeout my ibm 10gb hd
as i had randomly hang ups w the1k wondering where it came from, thought of selling it to by
an newer one... but now
im fine....great forum here...!

I was thinking of putting a Texas Instrumets logo where the MPC 1000 logo is so I can fool people into thinking it's a prehistoric calculator.

it looks to me like splinter prefers the mv because of the optional monitor screen.
