So... I'm working on this new MPC Program Editor and I need a couple of things from you guys.

1) Tell me some features that you'd love to have. So far, I haven't installed JJ OS 2, but I will soon try to update to the new OS PGM file format.

2) Give me some ideas about the preliminary interface. Please don't just say I like it or it sucks...

Have a look:

hey, man. you are badass for doing this.

in the main operations screen, i say group params as they are grouped in the jj os. currently you have "high velocity" "level" and then "low velocity. i'd advise using the same order as it is in the jj os, or at least grouping the similar params.

i dig the expandable-collapsable pad "explorer."

i'd advise that make SIMULT an easy to do function, like a hotkey or something.

focus on the elements of program building that are fiddly to do in the jj os.
further development will surely come along the way, and i'll do a lot to help you in terms of beta testing.

it'd be nice if you had a mode that displayed of GPE as it would be in a huge grid, with pads a01-d16 going vertically, and all the GPE screens layed out horizontally.

also, for keygrouping, observe a sampler like nnxt for an initial idea, then try to think of ways to speed the process.

wow... that looks sweet. much props to you for putting your time into this. i can't really tell at first glance, so this may already be a feature... but i think that the window to the right of the pads [with the sample names] should also be able to be used as a browser so that you can access folders on your computer's hard drive and drag & drop them onto the pads you would like to place that sound on... the dragging & dropping is essential here. just my 2 cents...

i'm agree with the mac format too (however i'll use it in emulation so no big problem)

about the rest i would like the ability to load 16 samples and that he could assign to each pad from 1st to 16th

PS

the ability to export sample to exs24 at least.... or other sample format... and in particular the love to make a program into akai and then exporting to pc and converting that to exs24.... so i can make sequence and program into akai then pass to usb/sd-card into your application and convert to exs24 or other to use into sequencer (with the use of midi sequence from akai imported into sequencer, so need the same note map)

sorry for my english

Looks fab :)

Possibly a dumb question, but will it allow for pad preview through the computer's soundcard? And, assuming it does, will it be possible to preview wav files in the File Open browser?

Nym's right about Simult Pad. Perhaps another drop down in the Parameters section to select which pad to simult with? Some visual indication on the graphical pads of which pads have simult enabled might be cool too.

I look forward to trying this out :)

dont know if its possible but it would be nice to be able to convert other akai formats. Like from other MPC's or S20's. Otherwise it looks pretty sick so far bro.

looks cool!
my suggestions are :
1.quick copying between pads.
2.keyboard shortcuts to flip between banks.
3.copy bank e.g bank a program1 copy to bank b program 2
4.copy a range of a pads. e.g. copy a1-a13 paste from b8
5.A conversion which can help OS1 programs play better on OS2 (adjust ADSR settings to match more closely OS1 AD behaviour)

That looks beautiful.

Would it be possible for it to support midi?

So you could use your MP to trigger the pads on screen...

that'd be the shit 8)

if you could fulfill half the requests that were mentioned, I would pay for this program
