I have not updated in like 3-4 months, I just recently upgraded the latest OS. Now I'm all confused as to how my settings should look on my MPC when I try to use Reason as my sound module. Can someone help me out, how should my MPC be set up?

I can play sounds from my MPC off my midi keyboard, but cannot play sounds from Reason on my MPC pads.

PS - I went back to look at Sparq's old video but this is a new interface I'm not familiar with so it didn't really help.

I assume you are referring to OS2 right? If so, I found a possible bug but I did find a workaround to get it working. I will post my workaround and the details of the possible bug once I get home later today.

Have you guys ever noticed weird issues while using your contoller? I'm using an Oxygen 8, and I usually have to let it sit for a while before the Midi notes start to get recognized by the MPC. I'll hit record, play some keys and for the first few attempts I'll either get nothing showing up in the MPC sequencer, or I'll get weird events like "MIDI Pitch bend" data, and "Pressure" data. After a whole lot of attempts, it eventually works normally and just records notes. Very strange and frustrating:(

I wonder if it has anything to do with me powering the Oxygen using USB.

yeah sounds very dodgy, ive had similar with low power from usb ports, try a better quality hub, or if direct from the pm/mac? then try another port, if no then power the bugger up.

most likely it's a usb power problem. My laptop has 4 ports, 1 is for my m-audio fast track, one is for my roland usb > midi adapter (to sync the mpc) one is for the oxygen 8, and sometimes I hook up an Alpha Track in the fourth port lol. I bought some rechargeable batteries for the oxygen. Hopefully it fixes things

Oddly enough, this didn't work. I tried Battery Power, and an AC Adapter, still no luck :(

The MPC seems to just randomly decide when it wants to work

i dunno - sorry, but i trust the mpc build than the m-audio build, u need to try both devices with a device that can clearly show which one's at fault, do u have a pc/mac - with midi ports, and some software to check exactly whats being sent?

I just checked the oxygen using Midi-Ox software and a MIDI connection on my PC, and it recorded notes perfectly. The problem might actually be with the mpc on this one. This is confusing as hell

Son of a ****, I think it was just a faulty MIDI cable all this time!

ehheheheheheh
oh well, u win some u lose some, at least u sorted now.

yeah, very good to check the simple basics first i often realise in hindsight, esp as theyre the easiest to check, before wading right in changing settings etc.....
