I am long time 2000xl user but am considering getting either a 2500 or a 1000. I learnt that the new jjos for the 2500 gives you the ability to use chopshop with stereo samples. has this happened with the new jjos for the 1000 yet?

one love

jjos1 and 2 offer stereo chop for both the 1000 and 2500.

wait, i thought the mpc automatically converted stereo samples to mono as soon as you trim or chop it? is this new with the jj os? and how did i not notice that?

trim, no, that never happened.
chop, yes - chopping used to convert stereo samples to MONO in the akai os and way earlier jj os's (maybe still the free one...?)

it was lame. it caused me to only sample in mono. all of edge city is basically flat mono cuz of that reason. weak. luckily that's been fixed.
