I got an MPC1k about 2-3 weeks ago and it had the Akai 2.11 installed so I went ahead and updated it to the free jj os v 3.08 and it worked great. Today I wanted to compare something from the old os to the new jj os so I reinstalled the old 2.11 akai os. After I was done I wanted to switch back to the jj 3.08 os so I reloaded it but it doesn't work the way it did before. Before reloading os', v3.08 let me pick what pad I wanted to assign a sample to before actually loading it but now when I press do it, instead of giving me options to assign my sample to pads it just quickly loads the sample and doesn't assign it to any pad, it totally skips that part of the sample loading. What I have to do now is load a sample and then manually go into mode>program and pick a pad and then assign the sample to it. What the hell happened. I already tried reinstalling the jj os several times and I even reinstalled the akai 2.11 and then reinstalled the jj os just like I did the first time when everything was working fine and still nothing, it wont let me assign a sample to a pad before i load it. Has anyone had this problem or just know what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks in advance,

B.A

no problem, man... when using JJ OS... any time you see that WINDOW button light up, press it to see some extra functions... all kinds of useful stuff in those screens.

and since you're getting familiar with JJ OS... you should look into getting the registered version of OS1... lots of extra stuff you'll need down the line... a great investment for the $30
